Speech Arts & the Performance of Poetry

Saturday, May 23, 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm · Carnegie Theatre

In this workshop, we will investigate the tools of speech arts and how we can use these tools to present our work with clarity, purpose, and strength. Using these tools, we will explore ways we can turn a poetry “reading” into a “performance”. Participants will be guided through the process of turning a written work into a spoken performance, and will have a chance to practice these skills with other attendees. This workshop is ideal for anyone looking to improve their public speaking skills.
