STEPHEN LYTTON
Stephen is a member of the Nicomen Indian Band of the Nlaka’pamux First Nation. A survivor of St. George’s Indian Residential School and a person living with cerebral palsy, he is an accomplished actor, writer, and presenter. Since 1992, Stephen has lived in Vancouver’s DTES, a community he admires for its resilience and heart. As president of the BC Aboriginal Network on Disability Society (BCANDS), he continues to advocate for inclusion and accessibility. In 2016, he received the Governor General’s Caring Canadian Award for his dedication to community service.
DEIRDRE KEOHANE
Deirdre is a painter, trained artist, and qualified art teacher from Cork, Ireland, with over 30 years’ experience in community arts. Her collaborative practice focuses on inclusion, working extensively with people with disabilities across Ireland and Canada. She has also brought her work to an orphanage in Belarus and to the Irish Special Olympics. Her work is held in collections including the Office of Public Works and the President of Ireland, and by singer Mary Black. A lead artist in the Vancouver Brigid Festival, she has received numerous awards and grants. www.deirdrekeohane.com
